Hi Drew, thanks for posting this! I was thinking of heading out to Bayocean to camp soon, but I've been reading a lot of conflicting info online about whether or not it's permitted. Several books list it as "backpackable" and several blogs detail the author's trip, but lots of other sites say that overnight parking isn't permitted at the trailhead. I've never been out there myself and I was hoping you could tell me about the parking situation you encountered?

thanks!
Kris

Hi! I also came across similar conflicting info. You don't need a day pass so there are no fees for anything, overnight camping is fine just no fires near drift wood. We parked out car in the parking lot and had no problems. Overall it's a very nice place if you like to avoid the crowded beaches.
